Quick Exercise Blast aka The Finisher

The finisher is a quick exercise blast which is a cool way to add extra intensity to your workout in a really short space of time.  Literally meant to finish you off!

If you imagine your body is a furnace and after a workout it’s continuing to burn a shed load of calories.  Well, adding a quick exercise blast or ‘finisher’ to the end of the workout is like pouring petrol in to that furnace, increasing the calorie burn!

2 other times a quick exercise blast is useful:

1.    If you’re really stuck for time, rather than skip a workout why not do a quick exercise ‘finisher’ instead?  It won’t have the same effect as a full workout, but it will give your body a little kick to keep it burning calories.

2.    If you work away and find yourself staying in hotel rooms alot and working late, then a finisher is great little ‘hotel workout’ if you need a quick kickstart before you head to the office.

Here are a couple of finishers that you could use:

•    10 Squats
•    10 Jump Squats
•    10 second Squat Hold
•    10 seconds rest
•    20 Squats
•    20 Jump Squats
•    20 second Squat Hold

Screamers (otherwise known as descending metabolic paring)

•    10 Push Ups
•    10 Jump Squats
•    9 Push Ups
•    9 Jump Squats
•    8 Push Ups
•    8 Jump Squats
•    7 Push Ups
•    7 Jump Squats
•    ……and so on until you reach
•    1 Push Up
•    1 Jump Squats

So, there you have them – a quick exercise blast or ‘finisher’.  Add them in to you exercise regime and watch your metabolism increase!
