What We Do

Hadrian Residential Bootcamp is a non military style bootcamp with a focus on both physical and mental fitness.  We believe that in order to achieve results, people should look after both their physical and mental fitness and develop strategies to make lasting changes to live healthy lifestyles.  Hadrian is about giving people the information and the practical tools to overcome obstacles they may face, in order to achieve their health and fitness goals.

Hadrian has a team of people involved to deliver much more than just physical exercise.  You will receive nutrition, fitness and mindset guidance before you even arrive at Bootcamp and will continue to receive support for 8 weeks afterwards. Once at Hadrian, you will enjoy a full programme of activity to include, physical activity sessions and daily workshops on nutrition, mental fitness and physical activity.  The activities utilise the beautiful natural surroundings including spending time along the historic Hadrian’s Wall. You will also receive tasty, nutritious and satisfying food which is prepared in our on site kitchen by our chef and at the end of each day take to your bed in luxury cottage accommodation.

At Hadrian Residential Bootcamp, we take a relaxed and fun approach to fitness and weightloss and appreciate that everyone arrives with different levels of fitness, health and reasons for joining us.  Everyone is encouraged to work at their own pace and to support and encourage each other along the way.  Whatever your reason for joining us, you can be reassured that the team will make sure you succeed!

Please note, all of our bootcamps are for men and women over 18 years of age.  However if you are under the age of 18 years and would like to join us at Hadrian Residential Bootcamp, please ask a parent or guardian to  email us  office@hadrianbootcamp.com to discuss your needs.

Bootcamp training

The word bootcamp can scare people with visions of a drill sergeant shouting orders and demanding 100 pushups!  Fear not!  At Hadrian we don’t follow any kind of military style instruction.  We take a relaxed and fun approach to training and prefer to support and encourage people to ensure maximum results.  We want your training to be effective so we encourage everyone to participate and ‘get stuck in’, although we do understand that everyone will arrive with different levels of fitness.

The joy of bootcamp training with us at Hadrian is that we can ensure a variety of activity so there’s something for everyone.  Various forms of training eg strength, resistance, cardiovascular, etc, will be provided with workshops to fully explain the benefits of each.

Above all else we want you to enjoy your bootcamp experience and to feel confident that you can continue with your training once back home.

Coaching and Workshops

Whatever the reason for joining us at Hadrian, we believe that having a goal in mind strengthens the Bootcamp experience, by providing a focus for each individual.  At Hadrian, Clare is on hand to provide coaching support for you to set realistic goals and to ensure you have a strategy for achieving them.  We want you to leave your Hadrian experience feeling empowered and motivated to continue on your journey to reach whatever goal you have chosen for yourself, whether that be completing a specific sporting event or fitting in to a certain size jean, etc.

There will be informal daily workshops, in between your physical activity sessions, where you will be coached as well as being provided with information on physical activity, mental fitness and nutrition.  This is to ensure you fully understand how each element of the bootcamp is beneficial and provides an opportunity for discussion amongst the group.  It enables you to take away with you the information you need to continue on your journey once you leave Hadrian.

Nutrition

At Hadrian we take a non complicated view of nutrition.  Martin has developed his very successful nutrition plan for his clients and will share this with you before you even arrive at Bootcamp.  The plan is based on the most basic of human need and relies on a diet full of fresh, unprocessed, nutritional ingredients.  At Hadrian you can expect to be served snacks and meals to include, vegetables, meat, fish, nuts, seeds, whole-grains, natural yoghurt, butter, etc.  All food at Hadrian is gluten free, with majority wheat and dairy free.  This way, your body gets a break from some of the more processed food preparation methods and reduces the effect of any potential food intolerance.

We have a chef Gez, on site throughout the bootcamp week.  Gez owns and runs a chain of local cafebars and prides himself on his wheat, gluten and dairy free menu.  At Hadrian we are all working closely together to ensure the menu is developed to deliver all the nutritional goodness required to achieve mental focus and optimum physical achievement.

Prior to your arrival at Hadrian Residential Bootcamp, you will be provided with our nutritional guidelines and an eating plan.  This way you can start to prepare your body for the changes in diet you may experience once at Hadrian.

We will ensure that you leave Hadrian with the knowledge to be able to continue to enjoy and sustain a healthy a nutritious diet once back home.  You will be provided with all recipes used throughout your stay with us

Physical and Mental Fitness

Hadrian Residential Bootcamp offers a unique experience with emphasis on both physical and mental fitness.  Whether you are wanting to lose weight, get fit, recharge your batteries, or train for a specific event, arguably you need to be both physically and mentally fit to achieve success.  At Hadrian we don’t just consider your mental health and wellbeing, we absolutely ensure that coaching and guidance is intertwined with physical activity and also with correct nutrition to achieve mental fitness.

It goes without saying that the more you help your body, the more you help your mind. Physical activity increases the flow of oxygen to your brain and increases the amount of endorphins, (feel-good chemicals) in the brain. It therefore follows that people who are in good physical shape also tend to enjoy a higher level of mental fitness.

You will be provided with guidance on physical and mental fitness before you even arrive at Hadrian so you can start to prepare yourself for your Hadrian Bootcamp experience.
